Shutdown & Turnaround Support

Multi-discipline inspection, NDT and remediation crews mobilised 24/7 for planned shutdowns, turnarounds and outages - one QMS team coordinating across all asset integrity scopes.

Overview

Every hour of an unplanned overrun on a turnaround costs an order of magnitude more than the inspection that would have prevented it. QMS Shutdown & Turnaround Support exists to keep your shutdown on the published critical path - by deploying calibrated, qualified, multi-discipline crews against your scope, on your schedule, around the clock.

We pre-mobilise. Before the unit comes down we pre-stage the equipment, agree the inspection plan with your TAR planner, calibrate every test rig against the actual material grades on the schedule, and dry-run the report templates so first-cut inspection records hit your TAR control room within hours of opening, not days.

While the unit is down we run inspection, NDT, weld inspection, mechanical testing, coating inspection, blast-and-paint and PMI from the same team. Findings flow into your defect-deferral system without re-keying. Repairs are scoped, prioritised and either executed in place by our blast/paint and weld supervision crews or handed off to your nominated trade with a clean defect report.

When the unit goes back up we hand back a single closeout pack - inspection certificates, NDT reports, weld traveller sign-offs, coating QA, repair traceability and any outstanding deferral list - so you walk into the post-turnaround review with the evidence already on the table.

24/7 mobilised

One coordinated QMS team across every integrity scope on your TAR

NDT, weld inspection, coating QA, mechanical testing, blast & paint and PMI under a single supervisor and a single reporting structure - so your TAR control room gets one source of truth, not five.

How we run a shutdown

1

Pre-TAR planning

Walk-down with your TAR planner, scope ratification, technique selection, calibration block sourcing, equipment build-out and resource roster against your published shutdown bar chart.

2

Mobilisation and base set-up

On-site set-up of inspection containers, RT bunkers, calibration benches, sample prep and report area - typically 24-72 hours before unit shutdown so we are ready on the first day of access.

3

Round-the-clock execution

Day and night shifts running NDT, weld inspection, mechanical testing, coating QA and PMI across the full TAR scope, with daily progress reporting to your TAR control room.

4

Real-time defect reporting

Findings raised, photographed, located on isometric drawings and routed to your defect deferral / repair workflow within the same shift, so engineering decisions happen in hours, not at start-up.

5

In-line remediation

Where appropriate, in-house QMS blast, paint, Cerakote, weld supervision and finish-grinding crews execute the repair scope in parallel with ongoing inspection - keeping the critical path clear.

6

Closeout and handover

A single TAR closeout pack: NATA-accredited NDT certificates, weld travellers, coating QA, mechanical test results, repair records, outstanding deferral list and lessons-learnt input.
