Weld Inspection

Comprehensive weld inspection services combining visual testing, NDT and mechanical testing for fabrication quality control and in-service assessment.

Overview

Weld quality is critical to the structural integrity and safety of fabricated assets across every industry sector. QMS Asset Integrity provides a complete weld inspection service - from visual assessment through to advanced NDT and destructive testing - all under a single NATA accreditation.

Our weld inspection capability covers the full fabrication lifecycle: welding procedure and welder qualification testing, in-process inspection during fabrication, final acceptance testing, and in-service integrity assessment. We work to all major fabrication codes including AS/NZS 1554, AS 3992, ASME IX, AWS D1.1, D1.2 and D1.6.

By consolidating visual testing, radiography, ultrasonics, PAUT, MPI, PT and mechanical testing with a single accredited provider, you reduce coordination complexity, accelerate turnaround times, and maintain a consistent quality standard across your project.

Weld Inspection Capability

Our technicians pair practical site experience with NATA-accredited processes, giving clients clear inspection data, traceable reporting and confidence in every result.

Methodology

Our weld inspection approach follows a systematic process:

1. Pre-weld: Review welding procedures (WPS), verify welder qualifications, check fit-up and joint preparation.
2. In-process: Monitor root, fill and cap passes. Verify interpass temperatures, preheat and consumable control.
3. Post-weld: Visual inspection followed by appropriate NDT (RT, UT, PAUT, ToFD, MPI, PT) per code requirements.
4. Destructive testing: Bend tests, fracture tests and macro examination where required for procedure or welder qualification.
5. Reporting: Complete documentation package with test records, radiographs, scan data and compliance summaries.
