Overview
The cheapest defect to fix is the one caught at the welding bay. The most expensive is the one caught after hydrotest, when the unit is dressed, insulated and on the way to site. QMS Fabrication Quality Control sits inside the fabricator’s shop on your behalf, walks the welds in real time and stops defective work before it gets covered.
Engagements range from a single Welding Inspector embedded into a defence supply contract through to a full multi-discipline ITP coverage team running WPS/PQR review, joint fit-up sign-off, root and cap visual, in-process NDT, mechanical testing of production test plates, PMI, dimensional check, hydrotest witness and final hand-over documentation.
QMS is independent of every fabricator we inspect. Our reports go directly to the asset owner, the principal contractor or the certifying authority - not to the fabricator’s QA shelf - which is exactly what your insurers, your class society and your regulator want to see in the project pack.
