Overview
QMS was founded over 15 years ago as an NDT and inspection provider to the Australian Collins Class Submarine programme. That service and support contract still exists today, giving QMS a long-standing connection to Australia’s most demanding naval sustainment environment.
Since then, QMS has expanded its expertise and capability to support a wide variety of inspection scopes for surface and subsurface vessels. Our teams work across naval, defence, commercial marine and civilian vessel assets, combining qualified inspection personnel with practical remediation capability.
QMS is Lloyds certified for NDT and hull thickness surveys, supporting vessel owners, sustainment contractors and defence supply chains with independent evidence of asset condition. Our capability includes coating inspection, corrosion removal, thickness inspection, NDT, and blast-and-paint services delivered to a wide variety of civilian and defence standards.
Under the AUKUS trilateral agreement, Australian suppliers are expected to manufacture components to the requirements of NAVSEA. QMS has a NAVSEA inspection programme compliant to the requirements of NAVSEA Technical Publication T9074-AS-GIB-010/271 (NAVSEA Technical Publication 271) and can perform NDT and inspections under the SNT-TC-1A scheme.
