QMS Asset Integrity provides a complete surface preparation and protective coating service - from abrasive blasting through to the application of high-performance industrial coating systems. Our blast and paint capability is a core part of the QMS asset integrity offering, enabling us to deliver end-to-end asset protection solutions.

Our teams are experienced in a wide range of coating systems for the oil and gas, marine, mining, defence, manufacturing and infrastructure sectors. We work to Australian and international coating standards including AS/NZS 2312, SSPC, NACE and ISO 8501, ensuring specification compliance at every stage from surface preparation through to final DFT verification.

With integrated coating inspection capability, we verify surface cleanliness, profile, wet and dry film thickness, adhesion and cure at each stage - giving you confidence that the coating system has been applied correctly and will perform to specification.

Abrasive Blasting: Surface preparation is the foundation of any coating system. We perform abrasive blasting to the specified cleanliness standard (Sa 2.5, Sa 3, SSPC-SP5/SP10) using garnet, steel grit, aluminium oxide or other media as required. Surface profile is verified with replica tape or stylus instruments to confirm the coating manufacturer’s requirements are met.

Protective Coatings: We apply multi-coat industrial paint systems including epoxies, polyurethanes, zinc-rich primers, intumescent fire protection, and specialty coatings. Application methods include airless spray, conventional spray, brush and roller as appropriate. Each coat is verified for DFT, adhesion and cure before the next is applied.
