Overview
Corrosion is the largest preventable cost in Australian heavy industry. The Australasian Corrosion Association estimates the national bill at $24-32 billion every year, with around $8 billion of that considered preventable through disciplined corrosion management. The single biggest factor in capturing that saving is moving from reactive repair to a structured programme.
QMS Corrosion Management is exactly that programme. We work with asset owners to establish a baseline, set the right inspection cadence, monitor corrosion rates with calibrated NDT, identify trending degradation before it becomes failure, and intervene with the smallest, lowest-cost treatment that will preserve service life. Where remediation is required, our in-house blast, paint and Cerakote teams execute the work without handing the asset off to a separate contractor.
The result is fewer unplanned outages, deferred capex, fewer regulatory excursions and a defensible audit trail for insurers, regulators and class societies.
